Cabo San Lucas

Cabo was our last stop and definitely my favorite location. The weather was fabulous. I love the sun. For our last adventure we took a glass bottom taxi tour around the rock formations at the tip of the Baja. The tour was great the driving was not. I was afraid our boat driver was going to run over a snorkeler or crash into the rocks.

That's our cruise ship, but believe me there were some incredible yachts at the marina here.

This is a beach called Lover's Beach. For those Utahn celebrity spotters below is Chunga, his son, his significant other, Cort's wife Randi, and Cort himself. For those of you non-Utahns Chunga, Cort, and Chelesa are the radio personalities for the group we went with on the trip.

We loved this beach! You have to be careful though. The other side is called divorce beach and faces the Pacific. Apparently the tides and waves on that side our very dangerous and we were warned several times not to go on that side of the Baja.

All in all we loved the cruise. We enjoyed the people, the food, the sites, the food, the shopping, the food, the warm weather, the food, and the get away during winter. We feel very blessed to have such a great vacation.

Mazatlan

Our second stop was Mazatlan and here we visited the acquarium. This was interesting because we were really the only gringos there and all the exhibits and shows were entirely in Spanish.
I loved the bird show. What can I say I am sucker for animals that do tricks.

This is the best shot of the crocodiles. We were actually very close and they seemed fake as they didn't move much, until this open mouthed shot.

We also enjoyed the beautiful tropical fish. It was much different visiting a foreign aquarium, lets just say the standards are not quite up to the United States. Maybe it is because they don't have PETA there.

Another exhibit I really liked was the complete skeleton of a whale. Here is our newlywed pose picture. Everywhere we went we kept getting asked if we were newlyweds. How are we supposed to answer that questions? I say we have been married 2 1/2 years with no kids yet, so sure I guess we are still newly weds

If you look really close you can find Nemo and Dori pretty much has taken over this picture.

Puerto Vallarta

We had three ports on our cruise and the first was Puerto Vallarta--Welcome!
We decided to do a zip line tour as our activity. The radio station organized a tour and below is a picture of what it is like. Sorry we were too cheap to pay their prices for our pictures or a dvd. They wanted $50.00 for the dvd and that is just ridiculous. The tour was awesome though and definitely our favorite activity. The zip lines were set up over the jungle where the movie Predator was shot. There was some of the movie memorabilia set up around. Look here is the Predator and the destroyed helicopter.

After our tour Matt and I grabbed some food and had the best guacamole ever!! This is his response to good food and good fun.

Here's me, man I was tired! There were 12 zip lines set up and you hiked upward to get to each new line. It was a work out for someone is out of shape, but it was worth it.

This is the side view of the helicopter as you can tell we were very impressed by it.

This is the road we drove up and back on. We were in a large tour bus and I felt like I was on the movie Romancing the Stone where she takes the wrong bus in Columbia and ends up in the middle of the jungle on the tinest road ever. We were glad our bus driver was taking it slow.

I would definitely recommend this as an adventure to take. It was so awesome to see the jungle by flying over the top of it. The longest and highest line was 1650 feet long and about 1000 feet up. It was really an exhilarating experience.

The Scenary

If there were an award for artist of the family it would go to Matt. He took several of these gorgeous pictures at the ports and throughout our travels.

This is one of my favorites, where the sea meets the sky.

The rest of these are the sunrise on the last day, Matt got up early to capture the moment. He was disappointed by the clouds, but I think these are still incredible.

Chunga's Cruise Loco

So were back . . . I have finally unburied us from the laundry monster and I am ready to blog again. I know, I know how much laundry can two people make. Trust me it's a lot and it just seems to keep coming. I have tasted of victory though and I am ready to begin the blogorama about our vacation.

We picked a cruise during the winter because I am not the snow queen and we needed an escape to some place warm like Mexico for instance.

I decided to start out with pictures of our dinning group. I have been on two cruises. The first was called free style cruising and you did not have assigned tables or times. This time we did have an assigned table and we chose the late dinner time. I have to say that I loved getting to meet new people and building a connection with them. They sort of become your little cruise family. Here are some pictures from one of the formal nights.

Toria and Heidi. I know this picture needs some explanation. These girls are both single moms that came together. Earlier in the day someone had asked Toria who she had come with and she said her girlfriend, meaning her friend in a platonic way, however that person really thought it was her girlfriend. We teased them all week.

One of the major components of a cruise is eating. Here is Matt sampling food from just one of the buffets.

Here's everyone on the last night. Kudos to our waiter and his assistant they were fabulous. I loved the guy from the bar too he was excellent at keeping the Dr. Pepper flowing.
