Disneyland

. . . Returning to the vacation that was over a month ago (I have been on a hiatus due to technical difficulties). The following montage is the Reader's Digest version of the Disneyland portion of the vacation.

Welcome to Disneyland--these flowers are always so well groomed. This is such a great entrance for a theme park.

When you were a kid did you think the castle was humungous? It doesn't quite feel that way as an adult.

Big Thunder Mountain

The Matterhorn. This is my favorite Disneyland ride, a definite classic. Matt loved the Indian Jones ride, which is pretty great too.

The newest ride in Disneyland is the Buzz Lightyear. It is an interactive ride where you actually get to shoot targets and keep score. It is terribly addicting, but the lines are huge. I loved it almost as much as the small kids and the men.

All I can say is nobody throws a party like Disney. This shot doesn't do the fireworks justice. There is something magical about a spectacular fireworks show over the castle. I loved it!

I Love to See the Temple

As part of our trip we were able to see two different temples.

The San Diego Temple

In San Diego Matt and I were able to do a session and we were asked to do some sealings as well.

The LA Temple

Hopefully we will get to go in next time.

A couple of weeks ago Matt and I had a chance to go on a California vacation. Here are some of the "stars" we saw on our trip.

Attitude of Gratitude

This week it's very hard not to think about living in the United States of America and the many freedoms we enjoy here.

I particularly love the Star Spangled Banner and I think the third verse is something we don't hear very often so in a tribute to patriotism here is the final verse:

Oh, thus be it ever, when free men shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserved us a nation!

Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust!"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I love how the verse attributes our freedom to the hand of God. I promise not to break into "I'm Proud to Be an American, " but what can I say I am and I am so grateful I was born here.

The Newest Member of the 29 Club

Introducing the newest member of the 29 club. My dad says I have finally made it to my eternal birthday--29 and holding.

To celebrate Matt and I went out to The Cheesecake Factory. This was my first visit because they are located way down in Murray. Anyway I totally loved it. The food was fabulous and the cheesecake was to die for. I highly recommend the restaurant if you haven't tried it.

3 Anniversarys and Counting

So June 29th was our third wedding anniversary and we decided to splurge by going to the Hines Mansion. It's this cute little old house that has been transformed into a bed and breakfast.

The tub in our room was awesome. Who doesn't enjoy a good soaky soaky in a huge tub, plus the sparkling cider made it extra fabulous.

I enjoyed getting back to Provo to see some of my old haunts and to check out the new buildings on BYU's campus. I was surprised how much the place had changed, but it was awesome too. Next year we go back to Matt's roots in Montana.
